The State of AI Product Adoption

A planned editorial review of how organisations adopt AI-enabled products, and the decisions that adoption forces.

Report cover for The State of AI Product Adoption: bar chart showing how adoption narrows from awareness through trial, pilot and team use to embedded use

Status

This is a planned research topic. Nothing has been published yet: there are no findings, figures or participant data on this page. What follows is the scope we intend to cover, shared openly so readers know what to expect.

Intended scope
  • How organisations decide to adopt, extend or retire AI-enabled products
  • Where adoption decisions sit — team, function or executive
  • Which internal objections recur, and how they get resolved
  • What organisations say they need before scaling a pilot
Questions the piece will examine
  • What makes an AI pilot become infrastructure rather than an experiment?
  • Which adoption decisions are being made without evidence today?
  • How do teams distinguish capability from novelty?
  • What would change an organisation’s mind after a failed pilot?

How it will be reported

When published, this piece will state its method, its evidence base and its limits in the opening section. Any simulated component will be labelled as simulated, with its assumptions listed.
